    Why my True Black Brandywine Tomato does not get black /dark red? It is ordinary red. Is it because of copper I sprayet it with?

    • @ohhowhappygardener
      @ohhowhappygardener 19 дней назад

      The color of your True Black Brandywine tomatoes may be staying red instead of turning darker maroon due to several factors: 1. Genetic Variation: Sometimes, seeds can have slight genetic variations or mix-ups, resulting in fruit that doesn’t fully develop the expected coloration. 2. Light Exposure: True Black Brandywine tomatoes develop their darker maroon color more prominently with good exposure to sunlight. If the tomatoes are shaded or not getting enough direct sunlight, they may stay red. 3. Ripening Conditions: Temperature and ripening conditions can also affect color. Cooler temperatures might not allow the fruit to develop the full maroon color. Similarly, the fruit might need a longer time to ripen fully before achieving its characteristic color. 4. Nutrient Deficiency: A lack of certain nutrients, particularly potassium, can affect the coloration of tomatoes. Ensuring your soil is well-balanced and rich in nutrients might help in developing the expected color. 5. Maturity: Sometimes tomatoes take longer to fully ripen. Patience might be required as they can turn darker as they reach full maturity. Hopefully, this helps!

    • @ohhowhappygardener
      @ohhowhappygardener 8 месяцев назад

      So far so good… it’s got several settings to adjust the intensity. Really, it depends on your application. I got it in case I wanted to grow fruiting crops under grow lights from start to finish. But I mostly use it to start seedlings. This is another good option if you’re wanting just to start seeds or grow non-fruiting crops that are mostly vegetative: litestoreusa.com/index.php?id_product=3841&id_product_attribute=0&rewrite=plantmax-led-jn-ledt544-t5-44-fixture&controller=product&gad_source=4&gclid=CjwKCAiA-vOsBhAAEiwAIWR0TbKCpN8NVntwlmQ2SHT8qjIFB4F6LwxkIrbVI17vR_wX71EFGxrRLRoCG4wQAvD_BwE

    I got about 21 truck loads of leaves about 210 yards to spread out. I also have about 30 loads of wood chips. I'm using a skid steer to spread the wood chips, but the dumb leaves clump together instead of spreading out. I wonder if really powerfull leaf blower would help???

    • @ohhowhappygardener
      @ohhowhappygardener 8 месяцев назад

      You can try a leaf blower. We did it the manual way and spread the leaves out with pitch forks. We loaded tarps to pull big chunks to where we wanted them, dumped them, then spread them out by hand. In the Spring, I run a riding lawn mower over them on the highest setting and mulch them in.

    😮How do you empty and clean the hand held vacuum sealer?

    • @ohhowhappygardener
      @ohhowhappygardener 9 месяцев назад

      When you open the top lid, there is a removable tray with a flexible tabs on each side. Push the tabs in slightly towards each other as you try to pull it out, and you should be able to remove the tray for cleaning.

    Great video! Thanks for sharing! And I actually had this situation happen tonight where I went to replace my used up foodsaver bag roll with this exact replacement roll. Yep, too big, so I grabbed the cardboard tube from the spent roll and quickly rolled half onto that tube, then I had 2 perfectly sized rolls that fit into the foodsaver so no manual cutting. :)
